Together with the client and the electronic engineering team, we developed the overall concept of how the enclosure functions and refined the aesthetics with a quick few hand sketches.
We then created a detailed CAD model which included the PCB, buttons, and seals.
We fine-tuned all the details and made sure the PCB integrated well with the enclosure.
Last step was to work with the manufacturer to create manufacture ready files and adjust the tolerances to make sure the product suited their manufacture techniques.
Enclosure was to be IP66 rated with no screws visible to customers.
That meant the PCB snap fitted into enclosure and the two-part enclosure to snap fitted closed.
